Your support makes OTHERSIDE possible. We’re committed to bringing you fantastic stories and art by queer authors and artists—but we’re a nonprofit organization helmed by a small team of volunteers, and running a literary magazine is expensive. We couldn’t do this work without the generosity of our subscribers and supporters. 

OTHERSIDE is published by Hybris Press, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. That means your donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Become a Patron

One of the best ways to support us at this time is by subscribing to OTHERSIDE via Patreon! You can join as a monthly patron at one of three different tiers, all of which come with early access to issues of OTHERSIDE as well as extra perks like access to our lively Discord community. If you’d like, we’ll also list you among our recurring supporters in the back of each issue.

The monthly support we receive from Patreon goes directly to our authors, and hitting Patreon goals allows us to increase author pay. Our current Patreon support has allowed us to boost author pay to 8 cents/word for fiction and $50/poem for poetry! Thank you for helping us compensate our authors for their work.

Supporting OTHERSIDE doesn’t have to cost money! The best way to support us is by talking with friends, sharing the stories we publish, and spreading the word on social media. We need your help letting people know we exist! If you love a story or a poem, please share it. If you think this work matters, talk about what we’re doing with readers who might be interested. We can’t emphasize the importance of word-of-mouth advertising enough. (Bonus points if you tell a friend who isn’t already a big reader of short fiction.)
