Submissions

Please do not email us your submissions directly unless an editor has explicitly asked you to do so. Emailed submissions will be deleted unread without a response. If you’re wondering how to submit to OTHERSIDE, you’ll find that information here.

If it has been over 30 days since the close of a submission window and you haven’t heard anything from us, check your spam folder, then query us at submissions@othersidespec.com. Make sure to include the title of your submission in your email. Please don’t feel like you’re bothering us—if something’s gone wrong, we want to help! We’ll reply as soon as we can.

If you simply have a question about our submissions process or if something in the guidelines is unclear, feel free to contact us at the above email.

Press

If you’re a member of the press, you can contact OTHERSIDE at press@othersidespec.com. We’d love to chat! We’re always especially eager to connect with reviewers and critics. If you’d like copies of OTHERSIDE for review, just drop us a line and we’ll make sure to add you to our list.

Artists

If you’re a queer visual artist who would like to send us your illustration portfolio, please do! We’ve already selected an artist for our 2026 covers, but we’re always interested in work from queer illustrators for our website, socials, or interior illustrations (and soon we’ll be looking for an artist for our 2027 covers, too). Just know that we might not reply if we’re not currently looking to purchase anything, and please note that we are only interested in working with artists who identify as queer or 2SLGBTQIA+. We are especially interested in working with BIPOC and/or trans artists.
